This certification has allowed us to become a specially-trained contractor with the ability to complete Home Energy Audits. The Home Energy Audit is a comprehensive evaluation in which we utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to assess your energy usage. We will be able to assist you in creating a more comfortable, energy-friendly home while saving money on your utility bills and protecting the environment. Your home is an energy system with many interrelated components all working together to create a comfortable living environment for you. The Home Energy Audit evaluates how the components of your system are performing, both individually and cohesively, so you can maximize your home's energy efficiency.

Energy Overview: The following are Absolute Zero’s most common recommendations for a more energy efficient home:
 
DUCTWORK: Sealing your home's leaky ducts with mastic or aerosol-based sealant and balancing the duct system will optimize air flow to all rooms.
 
AIR LEAKS: Air leaks decrease the comfort of your home and its efficiency. Doors and windows are likely hotspots for leaks, but often more air escapes through attic penetrations, electrical outlets and lighting fixtures.
 
ATTIC INSULATION: When combined with air sealing, properly insulating your attic will save energy, improve comfort, and help balance temperatures throughout your home.

SHADE SCREENS: Shade screens can block up to 90% of the sun's rays from entering your windows, making it easier to keep your home cool.
 
LIGHTING: Compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs use 75% less energy and last up to 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs.
 
HEATING & COOLING SYSTEM: Today's new electric heat pumps and air conditioners are up to 40% more efficient than units installed 15 years ago.
